satan and the 5 five wills he said "i will rise above the stars" the devils pride

“The 5 I wills” of the satan – #2) “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God”

When you are in the military, you learn very quickly that you are expendable. Yes, they will try to take care of you; but primarily because you are an asset that they have invested in. They don’t necessarily care about your feelings. It’s crude to say but what it boils down to is dollars, cents, and whatever is best for mission readiness.

As a part of that mindset, as a soldier, you readily accept the reality that you are there for only one reason: mission readiness. If you embrace the call then you adopt the mindset that the mission comes first, regardless of the cost. “The mission” can have a broad definition. It can mean everything from a specific assignment to the preservation of the country in a broad sense.

A spiritual soldier in the Kingdom of God
So it is in the Kingdom of God. As a soldier in the army of God you have been called to give yourself for the mission. What is that mission? To glorify God, in Yeshua, by aligning yourself in the family of God to fulfill His plans and purposes on earth.

Part of fulfilling that mission is developing a working knowledge of the enemy… the satan and his minions.

Lest satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (emphasis mine)
2 Corinthians 2:11:

In this article, I am going to briefly address the second of the “5 I wills of the satan“: “i will exalt my throne above the stars of God”.

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.
Isaiah 14:13-14

First and foremost!
Without question; before you begin learning anything about the devil, the first step you should take to stand against evil is to vivaciously pursue an intimate relationship with Yeshua.

I will exalt my throne above the stars of God
In Part one of this 5 part series I mentioned how the satan is full of pride and that pride comes before a fall. Well, the satan became prideful and he fell when God kicked the rebel out of Heaven and he came here to planet earth. For now, this is his domain.

However, it is important to note that the satan wasn’t “just another angel” who perhaps was assigned to cleaning out the barnyard. Not that that is a bad thing to do, but Lucifer’s position was in the very throne room of God Himself. Ezekiel 28:16 tells us that Lucifer was cast out of the very “mountain of God”.

However, in the process, the satan has vowed to “exalt his throne above the stars of God”.

So what did he mean?
In Isaiah 14:12 Lucifer is referred to as a morning star. The King James Version omits the word “star” but most other versions include it. Here is how the Holman Christian Bible puts it:

Shining morning star, how you have fallen from the heavens! You destroyer of nations, you have been cut down to the ground.

In the Bible, stars can represent a few different things. Stars can represent angels or leaders. As we see in verse 12, above, there is even a connection to entire nations. The consistency that we can see here is that stars seem to represent some of the more key elements of the Kingdom of God.

So when he said that “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God”, the devil was saying that he would usurp God’s authority among those whom God had given authority, thereby undermining God’s authority, thus under-cutting God Himself.

He was saying that he would usurp God’s rightful authority and install his counterfeit, unrighteous, fraudulent, authoritarian system.

Yeshua, the True King defeated the satan
Yeshua came to defeat the works of the devil: To pave the way for His Kingdom to take its rightful place.

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
John 12:31-33

Yeshua came to draw all men unto Himself. In part, Yeshua came to make a way for His people to unite with Yahweh God.

This is why Yeshua said that he came to divide

“Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division;
Luke 12:51

Yeshua came to draw all men unto Himself. In part, Yeshua came to make a way for Gods people to unite with Yahweh God.

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.”
John 12:32

When you understand these things it brings much of life in to focus.
Many of the mysteries of life that leave others baffled will become clear to you.
