Daily Encouragement: What is more powerful than God?

There is a language that is so obscure, so confusing that few outside of its nation can understand it: The language I am speaking of is “Christianese”.

I purpose to refrain from speaking the language for a variety of reasons. However, I will occasionally introduce a word of “Christianese” for the sake of discussion. One of the words I occasionally discuss is “omnipotent”.

Omnipotent is one of the “three “omnis” of Christianese that are used to describe God.

The word omnipotent comes from Omni-meaning “all” and potent meaning “power: “All-Powerful”.

Before I proceed I want to make it clear that absolutely NOONE or No thing can stop God’s plans and pursuits from ultimately coming to fruition if the result is something that He wants to accomplish.

2 Samuel 22:33 
“For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? God is my strong fortress, and he makes my way perfect.” 2 Samuel 22:33

2 Chronicles 20:6
“And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD before the new court and said, “O LORD God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.”” 2 Chronicles 20:6

Psalm 147:4-5
“He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.”

Still, God’s plans can be thwarted by those who do not partner with Him.

The devil is about deception
I recently heard a story about WW2 that is becoming a favorite.

hitler was in the process of invading France but he was low on manpower. He had control of a bridge that led into France by which he marched his troops in parade style so that everyone would know that he was there in force.

However, as I mentioned he was short on manpower. So to overcome the problem he would march the troops across the bridge by day, march them back across the bridge at night by cover of darkness and then bring the same troops back across the bridge the next day again as sort of a triumphal entry in the daylight hours. He would do this day after day: The the same troops would march back and forth across the bridge day in and day out.

While I despise everything hitler, what I like about the story is that it exposes so well the deception that the enemy uses against us as he practices deceit for the purpose of your demise.

While the satan absolutely does not have the power to overcome the occupying force (God), He is a master at deception with the ability to make himself appear more powerful than he is.

Remember the garden? It was the power of deception that the devil used to steal man’s destiny.

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Gen. 3:2-4

If not for the devil’s deception, he would have never been able to overcome the man and woman who God had placed there to take dominion. the satan is a lier.

You can stop God
Through deception, the satan thwarted the perfect will of God in the Garden.

In a similar way, by your will, YOU can stop God from partnering with YOU as well.

So while you are not more powerful than God, because He will honor the choices you make, you do have the ability to alter His plans.

Take a look at what he told the serpent in Gen. 3:14:

And the LORD God said unto the serpent, BECAUSE you have done this, you are cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon your belly shall you go, and dust shalt you eat all the days of you life:

And then take a look at what God told Abraham:

And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for BECAUSE YOU hast done this thing, and have not withheld you son, your only son:

Gen. 22:16

So while no one or no thing more powerful than Yahweh God, you do have the power to influence His actions by your will because He will not violate the choices you make.

Come to El’ Shaddai’ – God Almighty!
Psalm 34:8 to admonishes us “taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in Him. 

You will never experience the power of God if you don’t put yourself in a position to do so.  

As referenced above, Abraham had to submit to God’s plan before He experienced the power of God in a mighty way.

Moses had to step out in faith before the great waters congealed and entrapped the army of Egypt.

Peter and John had to lift the lame man up before they saw the power of God heal his feeble bones.

Daniel had to be in the lion’s den in order for their mouths to be stopped.

Trust in God today and then “stand back and see the salvation power of “he Lord”.

As you align yourself with Heaven you will see that there is no one or no thing that even comes close to the majesty of El’ Shaddai. You can trust in Him.
