The mystery of prayer
To be honest, for much of my “Christian walk” meaningful prayer eluded me. It wasn’t really that I didn’t want to, or didn’t see the need: Rather it was because my prayers never really seemed to hit their mark: And after reflecting upon it, I suppose most of them didn’t.
It wasn’t because I didn’t want to talk with God; I did. Rather it was because God wasn’t responding the way I felt He should and so, therefore, I either couldn’t or didn’t recognize His reply.
satan’s is aware of your prayers
There were also other factors that made my prayers less effective than they could have been. The satan was aware of my prayers and he would run interference to them like a blocker would try to slap an incoming pass away from a receiver during a football team. Because I was ignorant of the reality that satan even had that capability, it made him even more effective.

It’s one thing to have your pass blocked but it’s another to not even know that a pass was ever thrown because you never received it because you didn’t even know that someone was out there blocking it.
In Daniel 10 it is recorded that Daniel prayed for 21 days before seeing a result. Why did it take 21 days? Because the angel sent to answer his prayer was resisted by the enemy.
After years of this happening, it can be discouraging.
The violent take it by force
… the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Matthew 11:12
Some people like to fight: I don’t. I have been a fighter most of my life but for the most part I have never enjoyed it. I’m old enough to remember the old Coca Cola commercials… Here is one that I remember.

This is what I would like: perfect harmony in the world based upon the love of God: One day that will be a reality. But for now, the reality is that we were born into war; a vicious war between Yeshua and satan, good and evil, right and wrong. Some of us are victims of that war even before we leave the womb; others experience it later on but we will all participate in this war that began even before the first man and woman sooner or later.
The longest war in human history stretched out for almost eight centuries between Christians and Muslims from across the Strait of Gibraltar. Think of how many people were born, lived and died with no relief from war. Praise God that is not the case for you; there is relief available.
Seize the moment
So if you want the things of God, you have to seize them.
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:15-17
Do whatever it takes to find the answers you need to fulfill God’s calling in your life.
Now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
