Are we defenseless against the devil?

The devil’s primary weapon is lying / deception.

In the garden, he lied to Eve and deceived her into thinking that she would not die if she “ate of the fruit of the tree”. He even attempted to deceive Yeshua by misquoting Scripture while out in the desert wilderness.

One of the most effective methods of deception that the satan has utilized is to make people, particularly Christians, think that he doesn’t exist.

In so doing he has accomplished many things. One thing he accomplished is shifting the blame for bad things in the world from himself to Yahweh, the God of the Bible.

Most people acknowledge that there is some sort of a god, or higher power, a creative force; even if they don’t admit it. So then if satan can convince the world that he doesn’t exist, then everything evil that occurs is then attributed to “God”.

Some people even nefariously teach that it is Yeshua that orchestrates evil against His people; incredibly sad.

Why do we always have to be on the defensive?
During my teen years, while in the church I grew up in, in frustration I remember asking “why do we always have to be on the defensive?” 

I was referring to the satan and evil.  No one there had the answer to that question which led me to believe that, as Christians, we were left defenseless.

This is part of what caused me a lot of problems. In my late teens, I reasoned “why do I want to serve a God that can’t help me when satan attacks”?  Over the years this seemed to sort of gnaw at me.

America’s mainstream religion has many such gaping holes that act as a snare to any thinking person.

I am thankful that, since then, I have come to know that we don’t have to be at the mercy of the devil. There are many ways to be on the spiritual offense. We don’t have to be on the defensive. In fact, the Word of God clearly instructs us not to be.

These are the kinds of issues that are causing Christians to leave institutional churches in droves.

Anyway, the first and most important thing you can do to guard against evil is to develop a close, intimate relationship with Yeshua.  The closer your relationship with Him, the less likely you will be deceived.

Without that, without Him, nothing else you do will matter.

Be prepared though. Once you receive this understanding, and especially if you begin taking positive steps toward it, the satan will very likely do everything He can to prevent you from experiencing this precious key to the Kingdom.

He will do things like lure you with opportunities to make more money so that you are distracted, cause either you or someone close to you to become seriously ill, cause a serious accident that causes you to be distracted, cause a significant reduction in income, or anyone of a myriad of other distractions.

There are many things that you can do to prevent his effectiveness in these areas. I address them regularly in articles, on the radio and in various teachings, etc.

In defense of liberty
As more and more people are recognizing that things are seriously wrong in America, many sense that they should do something but they don’t know what to do.

“Do I join a committee? Support a campaign for a good candidate? Do I join a cause? Buy guns? Store up more food? Take some classes?

While some of these things may be worthy, they all overlook the most important, and the most effective thing they can do to help the situation which also has the least financial burden.

The call of liberty is reaching out to you

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.
Psalm 33:12

Where the Spirit of Yahweh is, there is liberty. Generally speaking, this Biblical principle applies to individuals, families, groups, organizations, communities, cities, states, and nations.

While there is a time for everything, any and every effort that is pursued absent the Spirit of the Most High God will burn in vanity.

We live in a physical world with physical needs. To meet some of those needs you may be called to one of the efforts I mentioned above. However, if you are doing it on your own, rather than in concert with the Captain of the armies of Heaven, your efforts will ultimately be in vain, even if temporary victory is enjoyed.

Partner with God
Several years ago a “new” concept began to be the buzz in business; “partnering”. “Partnering” in verbal shorthand for the concept of working together to accomplish a mutually beneficial goal.

“Partnering” is a very novel concept that some really smart people thought of ….. thousands of years ago. No, it was not born in a business university on the East Coast.

Rather the idea of “partnering” is as ancient as God Himself as He dwells in cohabitation as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Partnering is as old as the garden of Eden when Yeshua brought the animals to Adam to see what He would call them and then walked with him in the cool of the evening as Adam “partnered” with Eve and even God Himself.

So, why are we defenseless against the devil?
We’re not. That is, we’re not as long as we are “partnering” with Yeshua in an intimate way. Alone, we don’t have a chance. With God, we are assured victory; if not in this life, in the next.

Conclusion
So, no; you are NOT defenseless against the satan if you have an intimate, loving relationship with Yeshua and you follow His instructions and rules of engagement.

IF you DO have an intimate relationship with Yeshua, whole and complete liberty is waiting for you and even potentially the entire nation.

Remember, blessed is a person, community, state and / or nation who’s God is Yahweh.
