“ME” and the Sacred Journey
We are embarking upon a process we are calling The Sacred Journey. It’s a trip through the Song of Solomon. We are coming to know the love of the Messiah: The love of the groom for His bride.
This process was born out of a season of intense introspection of myself.
Out of that, I believe that I found the secret of life. And that is what I am trying to share as inadequate as it is through this sacred journey.
It seems that the older you get, the more mistakes you make and the more mistakes you make, the more fragile you come to understand that you really are. This is wisdom that age brings.
Mistakes
When you’re younger, you really don’t care if you make a mistake, because you think that you have plenty of time to make up for it. You think that i really doesn’t matter if you have to do something over again. Of course, that’s not really so: But that’s what you think when you’re younger.
As time rolls on you look back at wasted time and mistakes; some small, some big, some that only impacted you, some that impacted others.
As more time rolls on you begin to look back on years, maybe decades, of this kind of conglomeration and you kind of wonder, where you are in time and space.
You may come to a point at which you begin to wonder what the big deal is and is it worth it.
The Secret of Life
What I embraced during this time was the reality that God loves me and God loves you. He is no respecter of persons. He doesn’t have favorites.
Over the last few days, we’ve been looking at Song of Solomon, 1:2.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Song of Songs 1:2
These are the words of the Shulamite woman who is longing for the love of her groom.
“Let him kiss me with the kisses”. This is the phrase we’ve been looking at all week. The word we’re going to look at today, in this phrase is the word “me” This is perhaps the most important word in this little phrase.
The groom can reach out and try to show affection, but if the recipient refuses to receive it, there’s not much the groom can do.
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:29-31
God loves
All through the scriptures. This message of God valuing his creation is paramount.
We often do not accept that God loves us. This can be for a multitude of reasons including our own misunderstanding, ignorance, evil spirits that work to stop us from understanding and embracing this reality, generational curses, trauma, our own experiences and portions of our soul that want to keep God at a distance that don’t really want us to embrace the reality of God can all prevent us from fully embracing God’s love.
Romans 8:35-39 clearly reveal to us that nothing can separate us from the love of God and that in Him we are more than conquerors.
I don’t think it is possible for us to understand the great Love that God has for all of His creation. However the more understanding we have, the closer we will be to Him and the more Kingdom power and authority we will walk in.
Blessings in Yeshua,
