Life can be better through inner healing

No matter your situation, almost all of us have areas of our life that are tucked away that we would rather leave alone.  While it may seem easier to let the dead dog lie, the problem with that is if not properly dealt with, death breeds death.

Because of this reality, Yeshua was filled with compassion for people.  During His earthly ministry, He healed ailments of every sort by various means.  He was eager to help all who were afflicted regardless of their condition.

Several centuries ago, people who were tormented by the dark side would seek out Christians because they knew that the Christians could help relieve them of their torment.

These days, in America, if someone has faith for any kind of healing they are sometimes viewed as “cultish” by America’s mainstream Christian religion. It seems that being healed is somehow more acceptable to them if it comes from the science world then if a person is actually believing God for it.  It seems even more acceptable if the healing is physical rather than healing of the spirit or soul.  Counseling is acceptable to them, but I am not really referring to that.

Just to be clear, I am also not referring to what is commonly referred to as “salvation” or being “born again”.  Being “born again” is obviously good.  Inner healing is what can occur as a result of that experience.  It is not somehow automatic just as physical healing is not automatic.

Just as experiencing physical healing requires attention, so does inner healing.  When you allow Yeshua access to your spirit and soul you give Him opportunity to do what is “normal” to Him but “supernatural” to us.  By the way, In case you are not aware, you should know that in most other parts of the world, God’s healing is far more accepted and sometimes even expected.           

However, Yeshua is just as eager to heal any and every condition today just as He was 2,000 years ago wherever He can.  God is currently healing His people and raising them up in preparation for the days ahead.  He would like you to be a part of His team.     

You Are Special
When God made man and woman, Genesis 1:31 records how He said His creation was “very good”. In Psalm 139:14 King David exclaims that we are wonderfully made and how right he was.

Likewise, when God created you He made a wonderful masterpiece. Especially if you have entered into covenant with Jesus / Yeshua, you are very special to Him.

For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 

A little background on inner healing: You had an enemy of your soul even before you were born
Unfortunately, millennia before you were even born, mankind made some really bad choices that made God feel very sad because He knew they were making a deadly mistake (Gen.1-3). One of those choices that man made was to allow the satan, our adversary, to pollute their relationship with the one True God.

God didn’t want that to happen but He didn’t want to force them to do (or not do) anything either; He wanted them to make their own choices. So, unfortunately, their decisions gave the satan access to their lives and now by extension, our lives.

You have heard of DNA right?  Well along with physical DNA there is a sort of spiritual DNA as well.  Decisions made by those who have gone before you can affect you not only physically, but also in your “spiritual DNA”.  Still, the Bible tells us that you are a beloved treasure to Yahweh God and He wants to help you make things right.

You were not created to be isolated or alone
You were not created to be isolated or alone; left to deal with these things by yourself. We all need encouragement and help from time to time. God has provided answers to help us with these things; pathways for healing.

God cares for you and He has already made a way for you.  He doesn’t want you to suffer, or be a perpetual victim of the world, evil, anything, or anyone else. God has made a way for you to overcome the forces of the world and to be united with Him.  He has made a way for all of the barriers to be removed!

Where did you come from?  More importantly, where did your “doctor” come from?
There certainly are well-meaning and sincere physicians of various sorts that are in “the establishment”.  However when was the last time you asked your secular medical doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, counselor or therapist about their personal view of God and the Bible? Do they consider you to be an evolving amoeba, the descendant of an ape, or a cherished creation and child of God?  It matters.  It matters a great deal. The point of reference that is held by those you entrust yourself to substantially impacts their ability to help you (particularly in the area of inner healing) no matter how “nice” or well-meaning they may be.

Secular “Mental Health” Workers are at a disadvantage
Because secular “mental health” workers such as psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, and therapists don’t understand the spiritual forces at work, and how dramatically they impact us, even though well-meaning, they are disadvantaged.  Some even deny the very existence of the human spirit (not to mention God’s Spirit) let alone the profound relationship between the spirit, mind (soul) and body.

Suppressing symptoms by way of synthetic drugs
Though usually well-meaning, secular “mental health” workers often utilize procedures and synthetic chemicals (medication) that are foreign, and even adverse, to the body and soul. All you have to do is read about their side effects to see that:  But even more than that, often time the same drugs that reduce your symptoms actually increase your susceptibility to demonic influence.

While secular approaches can suppress physical and “mental” symptoms, they often leave the root causes of unrest unaddressed. This leaves the real, root issues or conflicts that are preventing inner healing and peace lurking in the shadows, waiting to resurface when triggered or when the medication is no longer present.

Current secular estimates indicate that approximately 70% of all Americans are taking prescription drugs of various sorts and, as we all know, almost all of them have detrimental side effects; many of which are unknown to the consumer (or anyone else).

These types of treatments can have their place but it is sad to see the hurting and emptiness that these clinical approaches often leave behind even after years of expensive “treatment”.  Under secular care, in some cases, the best that the oppressed can hope for is a lifetime of chemical dependency.

Is Inner Healing valid for Christians / those in relationship with Yeshua?
Yes: Unequivocally yes, inner healing is not only valid but it is even foundational.  Inner healing should be a major emphasis in every Bible-based group everywhere.  Inner healing is available to everyone.

I understand ignorance: Been there, done that.  Regarding healing and specifically inner healing, I spent years of my life not even knowing what I didn’t know and thinking that I did (at least in a limited degree).  That’s a really bad place to be. Unfortunately, I wasn’t alone there.

So I understand ignorance and I understand very well that we are all ignorant in various areas of our lives.  Obviously, we can’t all know everything.

The problem arises when we think we do know what we don’t know or when we refuse to accept other perspectives that are more complete.

I hesitated to address this issue because I didn’t want to create confusion.  In fact, I purposely omitted what I am about to discuss from previous editions of this article for that reason.

However, since then, the potential severity of this issue has come to the forefront to me and so I feel that I should address it so that you are better informed in case you are challenged on the issue.

Two Answers to arguments against inner healing
Honestly, this section is painful for me to write.  When I think of all of the hurting people that need answers, and some of the people that I have had the privilege of serving in this way, this is really challenging for me.

One of the arguments against inner healing is in regards to “deliverance”; expelling evil spirits from born again Believers.  The primary argument in this regard is that God can’t dwell with evil.  The ignorance of that statement is staggering.

What do these people think Yeshua did when He volunteered to come to earth?  He left His Heavenly habitation to come and swim (dwell) in a cesspool (earth) of evil.  Plus, in Job 1 &2 we see the satan in the presence of God not on earth but in Heaven itself.  Along with that, the satan is well known as the “accuser of the Brethren” so who does satan address when he accuses the brethren if He doesn’t have access to the Courts of Heaven?  You can read more about this issue here.

The second argument that I am going to address is that “Jesus healed every need of every Believer upon conversion”.  This is so absurd that I am not going to spend a lot of time on it.  A very outspoken proponent of this view probably has the largest healing ministry in America right now; physical healing.  For some reason, he believes that it is okay for Yeshua to heal His people physically but not in their spirit or soul.  This is so preposterous that I am not going to spend a lot of time on it right now.  There will be a subsequent article forthcoming that is devoted to that issue.

Healing is available today for every area of life for everybody in spirit, soul AND body.

Why is the acceptance of inner healing so important?
There are many reasons.  How would you like to be seeking after Yeshua with every fiber of your being, yet tormented by thoughts or plagued with depression, or maybe suffering from generations of financial poverty and be told that you must not be “saved” or that you just need more faith?  These are the kinds of things that people are being told.  It leads to devastating results.

The inconsiderate shallowness of people who propound that nonsense is practically breathtaking.

Also,  it has been observed that the more secure a person is internally, the more equipped they are to handle stressful situations when they surface, as they do in everyone’s life.

We all need a little help from time to time
You need not spend your life in turmoil. Sometimes “spiritual DNA is passed down through your genealogy, sometimes mistakes are made, sometimes through no fault of your own “life happens”, or you may be a completely innocent victim of evil. Often times we don’t even know why we are experiencing emotional unrest. But no matter what the difficulty, Yeshua offers answers. Dear one there is a better way; God’s way.

Are you experiencing any of these challenges?
One thing I have learned from my years of ministry is that just as everyone benefits by a good, daily vitamin, we could all benefit from inner healing.  We are all dysfunctional in varying degrees; some less than others.

It is very important to note that we shouldn’t create problems where none exist, but on the other hand, internal conflicts are ignored at our peril.

Secular statistics indicate that 50%-80% of all disease is emotionally based.  If you suffer from physical problems, anxiety attacks, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, trauma, ritual abuse, memory loss, hearing voices, abuse, night terrors, anger issues, rejection, phobias, addictions, eating disorders or other similar challenges, then inner healing may be for you.

God wants you to find inner healing and peace
You are not alone.  These kinds of issues are becoming quite common in America today:  There are answers; there is hope.  You can find inner healing and peace.

Conclusion:  The satan wants to make you feel alone.  He will do everything he can to make prevent you from fulfilling your God-given destiny.  One of his favorite tactics is to inflict injury upon people in order to create barriers between people and Yahweh God.

You can be set free from those things in Yeshua.  You can be free to fulfill your God-given destiny.

In this way, inner healing can open the portal of Heaven between you and Yeshua, allowing you to fulfill your destiny in the Kingdom of God, here on earth.

Confession: Father God, in Yeshua’s name, today I declare that in the power and authority of Yeshua, I choose life.  I choose the plan for my life that Yeshua gave Himself for and I will not settle for less.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I release my past, present, and future to you. You are the Great Physician and You are capable of healing every area of my life and so I release them all to You.  Please help me to walk in your perfect will for my life.  By faith and for your glory I receive that blessing now in Yeshua’s Name.   Amen!
