Does God know what is going to happen? Should we thank God for everything? How to thank God for bad things that happen

God wants to know what you will do…

Please pardon a minute or so of strange sounds at the beginning of this recording. Thank you

Pushing against religion
If you are going to push against religion you can expect to get pushed back. One of the areas that I have received the most push back in is that of God testing people.

Religionists insist that God “tests” people so that they themselves will know what they will do. They say that God already knows how you will choose and so the benefit of the test is the enhancement of personal knowledge about yourself.

Does God test people?
As I see it, the Bible holds a different position. The Bible clearly expresses that God tests people for many reasons: One of which is to see how we will respond. Will we remain steadfast in adversity or will our faith waiver?

If anyone reading this has disagreed with what I said they have probably stopped reading already. My experience with religious people has been very consistent. They don’t really want to know what the Bible has to say. Usually, they won’t even listen. In essence, they plug their ears and finish the discussion with la, la, la, la, la, la, la…

Does God know how you are going to respond?
So, for those who would like to really know God rather than religious dogma, here are a few of many Scriptures which reveal that God tests people to see what decision they will make under pressure. More than anything He wants an intimate relationship with His people. Accordingly, He wants to know if He can trust them.

Deuteronomy 8:2  And you shall remember all the way which Yahweh your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove / test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments, or no.

Exodus 20:20  And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove / test you, and that His fear may be before your faces, that you sin not.

Judges 2:21-22  I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died: That through them I may prove / test Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.

Revelation 2:10  Fear none of those things which thou shall suffer: Behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tried / tested; and you shall have tribulation ten days: Be you faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.

Why does this matter?
Yes. God “tests” His people. He has great plans for His people. Victory is on the horizon but He needs to know who will follow through and who may not.

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

1 Corinthians 4:2
