Coronavirus P.4: Jesus vs. The Coronavirus

Recently the pope prayed to mary in regards to the coronavirus.

“While standing in front of a Marian painting, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church issued a prayer to Mary last week, who he referred to as the “Health of the Sick,” to ask that she deliver the world from COVID-19 through her intercession. On Sunday, he visited the Basilica of St. Mary Major to stand before an icon of “Mary, Protection of the Roman People,” as well as the Church of San Marcello al Corso, where he prayed before a crucifix that was carried through the streets during the Black Plague of 1522.

The prayer of Jorge Bergoglio, also known as Pope Francis, was posted online by Vatican News with an English translation of his remarks. While the pope is calling on Mary for healing, Christians are taking a different approach…

John G. Lake Healing Rooms Closed due to threat of coronavirus
In case you are not familiar with John G. Lake, he had an amazing healing ministry in the early 1900s. See an associated article here.

As part of his ministry, he established the “Healing Rooms” in Spokane, Washington. There were over 100,000 documented healings during the five-year history of the Healing Rooms. The testimonies of His ministry have filled volumes.

In the 1990’s someone else started a ministry, by the same, also in Spokane, Washington. There is no relationship between John G. Lake and the Healing Rooms ministry that have been operating.

That fact is very clear when you see that the current Healing Room ministry has closed their doors because of the coronavirus.

WHEREAS, to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Washington State and protect our most vulnerable populations, it is necessary to immediately prohibit any number of people from congregating in public venues for purposes of public entertainment, recreation, food or beverage service, theater, bowling, and other similar activities, in order to limit opportunities for disease exposure and transmission in the State;
THEREBY; RESPONDING IN LOVE AND CONCERN FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND RESPECT FOR AUTHORITY TO OUR LEADERS:
Spokane Healing Rooms will remain closed until the lifting of this Proclamation.

In case you’re not aware, there is little or no congregating in the Healing Room ministry. It works very much like a doctor’s office. Clients call for an appointment, arrive at the office, wait in a lobby and then go back to a private room for prayer ministry.

So while the world is in hysteria because of the coronavirus, the pope is praying to Mary, the international “Healing Rooms” ministry is shutting down, and church meetings all over America are being canceled.

All of these entities claim to be representing Yeshua. I need to make it clear that I certainly do not claim perfection. I do not fault anyone for doing the best they can under the circumstances that they find themselves in.

What I am calling our attention to is the fact that the “Christian Church” has lost its way.

Yeshua certainly did not bow to sickness or disease and although I am not aware of an instance when any of the disciples touched a leper, they certainly did take authority over sickness, disease and death.

Jesus Heals a Leper

Matthew 8:1-3
8 After he came down from teaching on the hillside, massive crowds began following him.[a] 2 Suddenly, a leper walked up to Jesus and threw himself down before him in worship and said, “Lord, you have the power to heal me . . . if you really want to.”

3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the leper and said, “Of course I want to heal you—be healed!” And instantly, all signs of leprosy disappeared! 4 Then Jesus said to him, “Don’t speak to anyone, but go at once and find a priest and show him what has happened to you. Make sure to take the offering Moses commanded so they can certify your healing.”

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. 2  Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. 3  Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure! 4  Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. 5  You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. 6  You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.

When the Word of God in your head it is theology
When the Word of God in your heart is healing.
