hope is the anchor of our soul Jesus, Yeshua, God

The anchor will hold

Have you seen the Jimmy Stewart classic movie called “It’s a Wonderful Life”? One of the reasons it is such a timeless classic is that there are so many wonderful scenes in it.

One scene that I have always remembered is when George (Jimmy Stewart) asks his somewhat dopey uncle if he knew what the three most exciting sounds in the world are.

Uncle Billy replied “Uh-huh. Breakfast is served, lunch is served, dinner …”

George: No, no, no, no! Anchor chains, plane engines and train whistles.

Having heard all three of those sounds I can attest that they certainly are distinct.

Anchors
Anchors conjure up many thoughts and memories for many people.

I remember one time when I was very young I was with my Dad and another man. We were fishing in an ocean bay. My Dad had rented a small boat and he had set the anchor. When it came time to move he couldn’t pull the anchor up because it had become stuck so he had to cut the rope.

When I was older I was out on a large lake in a boat with my own family when I was putting out the anchor. I had a long rope tied to the anchor thinking that it wasn’t necessary to tie it to the boat. However, because of the clarity of the water, it was deeper than it appeared. Because of my mistake, the end of the rope slipped through my hands and floated about 5′ below the water’s surface.

Hope is our anchor
In the Bible, “hope” can be defined as “confident assurance” The Bible tells us that, in the storms of life, our confident assurance in Yeshua will hold us as an anchor holds a ship in the ocean.

We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold

Heb 6:19

Hope in Yeshua
The Bible likens “hope” (confident assurance) in Yeshua as the “anchor of your soul”.

I really appreciate how the Bible speaks to real life in a real and relatable way. The world as we know it is going to change drastically and quickly; very quickly. There will not be a smooth transition; no time for adjusting to the new reality. Instantaneous, profound changes are coming to America and the world.

The Anchor Hold
Yeshua said that it was impossible to go through life without offense. However, He promises to always hold us during the storm. Praise God that He has not left us ignorant of the adversary and that He has equipped us for the battle against him.

Hope for the Remnant
The Remnant of God must come to a place of which Yeshua is first and foremost. He is the only thing and the only one who you can depend upon to see you through to the end.

I can’t encourage you enough to embrace Yeshua as the Anchor of your life. He will hold you and He will never fail.

Blessings in Yeshua
