Yahweh is a God of war and He will direct your path. He will lead and guide you. God has authority over everyone and everything

Yahweh -The God of all

“O LORD, the God of our fathers, are You not God in the heavens?
And are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations?
Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You.”
2 Chron.20:6

Israel’s King Jehoshaphat was up against the wall. Enemy nations that had the capability to easily destroy his people were lined up to do just that. What would he do? He prayed.

The passage above is a part of that prayer. In response to that prayer, God told them to not fear or be dismayed because of the great army that had assembled against them. He told them that the battle belonged to Him.  Yahweh God would prove again that He IS God, even over the heathens.

How I wished, in days gone by, that I would have prayed this prayer rather than taking matters into my own hands….. and often loosing.

I am so thankful that today I know that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob stands at the ready to battle with us if we approach Him accordingly.

Faith in Yahweh God’s promises is paramount
When we are very young, we do not have the capacity to embrace faith, or the ability to invoke His protection, so things can get pretty messed up. That is why God created the concept of “community”, and family; to help keep us safe, especially when we are too young to do so ourselves. It is tragic that those tasked with keeping us safe don’t always do so, especially when we are younger.

For those who are older, the same kinds of principles still apply; “the battle belonged to Yahweh”.  Yahweh God will honor His covenants with a covenant-keeping people. The problem is that much of how to keep relationship with Him is lost and so God’s protection of covenant keeping communities and nations are nearly non-existent.

However, in these Scriptures, we clearly see the reality that Yahweh God is God over ALL;  even heathens,  even though they don’t even realize it.  So while it is a battle, He has made provisions for us.

 2 Chronicles 20:15 & 17
And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says Yahweh to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s … You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for Yahweh is with you.”

The importance of a Heavenly perspective
I can’t stress enough the importance of obtaining Heaven’s Kingdom perspective on earthly situations before proceeding in these types of situations.  The great men of the Bible were constantly seeking God’s directives as they moved forward in the Kingdom of God.

Likewise, we see when someone didn’t follow God’s instructions, things didn’t go so well.

Prophets vs. Holy Spirit
In the “Old Testament”, people sought out God’s Word by way of a Prophet.  While Prophets are still a valuable part of God’s provision, in these days, God has poured out His Spirit on all flesh in a special way.  God has placed His Spirit in everyone and He has given those who choose Him the ability to recognize and understand Him.

By Holy Spirit, it is possible to seek God’s guidance to hear directly from Him.  We can enter into His presence and seek His instructions for victory for every situation.

Sometimes victory comes easier than others; but in the process of time, it is always guaranteed.

The whole armor of God
Along with gaining a Heavenly directive regarding what specific actions to take, we also have the capability and the responsibility to put on the armor of God so as to not fall prey to the plans of the satan.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:10-11

Summary
While it is true that Yahweh God does His part, He also expects us to do ours as well.  First and foremost He wants us to commit ourselves wholly and completely to Him.  Likewise, He expects us to learn His ways and to partner with Him.  When we partner with God in the spirit, by faith, we are blessed and He is magnified.

Confession: The God of the universe works through prayer and the fervent prayer of the righteous avails much. This is what Jehoshaphat did and this is what I can do and I partner with God by faith.

Prayer: Father God, there is so much I don’t understand: But one thing I do know; I want to be under your care. Teach me how to be in a loving, covenantal relationship with you so that I can partner with you for Your glory.
