Who is Israel, Who is the Church, Christians and Jews, Are muslims Christians,

Know who you are Part 1 / 3

Over and over I have witnessed situations spiral out of control because people try to run before they have crawling mastered. Numerous problems develop when we attempt to build without a proper foundation.

One of the areas that I have seen this play out over and over is when people don’t know who they are in the eyes of God: It affects every area of life. Sure there can be some success and thank God that He is merciful and sometimes helps us even when we are ill prepared. He will do His best to work with what He has.

What you think of yourself matters: But what matters most is that you know who you are in the eyes of Almighty God.

At some point, knowing, or not knowing, who you are in the eyes of God will impact you in a dramatic way.

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
Hebrews 10:35

The more we understand who we are, In Messiah, the more confident we are. The more confident we are the better our relationship with Jesus / Yeshua will be. The better our relationship with Yeshua is, the better everything is. I have seen this principle play out over and over in a multitude of ways: It is a principle that transcends every area of life.

When you enter into relationship with Yeshua, you enter into a covenant. Covenants are a particularly significant subject in the Bible that affects every part of it: They are interwoven in the very fabric of the Word of God. Many times I have said that unless you understand covenants, you can’t really understand the Bible and the more you understand covenants, the more you can understand the Bible.

…Yahweh God of Israel, there is no God like you, in Heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keeps covenant and mercy with Your servants that walk before You with all their heart:
1 Kings 8:23

Abrahamic Covenant
One of the very foundational covenants of all the Bible that effects everyone, Believers and unbelievers alike, is the Abrahamic covenant. Since its inception, the Abrahamic covenant has affected all people of all time whether they realize it or not: It has shaped the world.

There are Three religious systems that claim their beginning with Abraham but have gone in dramatically different directions; Christianity, Judaism, and islam.

God told Abraham that He would be the father of many nations (tribes), to travel to a land that He would show him, and that He would give that land to Abraham’s descendants.

The sons of Abraham
Abraham begat Isaac and Isaac begat Jacob. God changed Jacob’s name to Israel.

The word Israel is a somewhat complicated word to dissect but the consensus seems to be that it means “God Strives, El’ Persists, or El’ Perseveres”.

Israel had twelve sons. These twelve sons became the patriarchs of the twelve tribes of Israel. As a side note, one of those sons was named Judah. Yeshua was a descendant of the tribe of Judah.

Anyway, these twelve tribes of Israel, their descendants, and all who choose to join themselves to them, in Christ, are the people of God who the Bible collectively identifies as Israel.

For clarity, I refer to God’s people as “Biblical” Israel in order to distinguish them from the geographical body politic in the Middle East or the Jewish religion. Neither of those people groups are Biblical Israel.

A prerequisite of being included in the family (Israel) of God, Biblical Israel, is to embrace Yeshua as your Lord and Savior.

Luke 1:68
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he has visited and redeemed His people,

Galatians 6:16
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be… upon the Israel of God.

Biblical Israel is not the body politic that is currently occupying the geography explained by God in the Bible as belonging to Israel. That current body politic is pagan and in no way recognizes Yeshua as the Messiah. They have even made it very difficult, if not completely impossible, for anyone that claims Yeshua as the Messiah to even live in the land of God.

Neither is Biblical Israel the Jewish Religion. Judaism categorically denies that Yeshua is the Messiah. As Luke 1:68 (above) clearly states, Yeshua is the Master, God, and Redeemer of Israel. Judaism wholeheartedly rejects Yeshua and so, therefore, the Jewish religion cannot be Biblical Israel.

With these things, I should probably add that even though islam sees Abraham as the father of their faith, they are obviously not Biblical Israel either.

Even though islam sees Abraham as the Father of their faith, for islam it goes Abraham, Ishmael and Esau; not Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Just to be clear, I am not racist or prejudiced in any way. I do not dislike anyone because of their place of origin or the color of their skin. I have stated these things for clarification and educational purposes only.

So who is Israel?
Certainly, this is one of the most contested questions in the Bible and perhaps even in all of earth.

Before we progress, I feel it important to quickly review what I just mentioned above because it is a deception that has led multitudes upon multitudes terribly astray, even to death.

“Biblical israel is not the body politic that is currently occupying the geogrpahy explained by God in the Bible as belonging to Israel. They are occupying the land of the Bible, and calling themselves Israel, but they are a pagan nation that purposely and forcefully denies Yeshua as the Messiah. They cater to Christians so that they can benefit from millions of tourism dollars and maintain the support of the United States which is even now, still fundamentally Christian.

Even though islam and Judaism both see Abraham as the father of their faith, neither of them are Biblical Israel because they both categorically deny Yeshua as the Messiah.

Some people who call themselves “Christian” will be included in Biblical Israel but as Apostle Paul says, not all Israel IS Israel…

The God of the Bible is the God of Israel
Yahweh, the God of the Bible is the God of Israel and Yeshua is her King and Messiah. If you embrace the God of the Bible, and Yeshua as the Messiah, and serve Him wholly and completely, then you are counted among Biblical Israel.

1 Kings 8:23
…Yahweh God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

John 14:6
Yeshua said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.

Galatians 6:16
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be… upon the Israel of God.

Luke 1:68
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed His people,

Matthew 15:24
But He answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Acts 13:17
The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with a high arm brought he them out of it.

Galatians 6:16
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

Romans 11:1-2
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. .…

PLEASE NOTE: The Bible is clear: Without exception …..Yahweh God embraces ALL who come to him REGARDLESS of physical variations, genealogy, or place of origin.

Isaiah 56:4-5
For thus says Yahweh unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in my house and within My walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Summary of Part 1
Numerous problems develop when we attempt to build without a proper foundation.

If you know, or if you don’t know who you are in the Israel of God, either way, it will affect you in every area of life. With this understanding, your life becomes better.

More is available to you if you will step out and embrace what God has given you.
