Who is Israel, Who is the Church, Christians and Jews, Are muslims Christians,

Know who you are Part 2 / 3

A quick review of Part 1
In part one of our three-part series, I emphasized the necessity of knowing who you are in order to fulfill your God-given destiny. I briefly discussed the concept of covenants and their application to you: Specifically the Abrahamic Covenant. Finally, I addressed the nation of Biblical Israel (not the existing body politic currently in the East) and how you are a part of it if you are in covenant with the Most High God through Yeshua the Messiah.

A brief history of Israel as it relates to you
God’s Word tells us that a “mixed multitude” left Egypt with Israel. In other words, as far as Israel was concerned, whoever wanted to leave Egypt with Israel was allowed to do so. Upon departure, everyone who left Egypt that day was an Israelite, whether natural born or not, they were then assimilated into Israel.

The Bible identifies the 12 tribes who had been enslaved in Egypt, with all of the foreigners who had attached themselves to Israel, as the “mixed multitude” of Israel who went to Mt. Sinai. It was there that Israel entered into covenant with Yahweh God: A marriage covenant,  Jer. 3:14. This is when the “Ten Commandments” were given.

The covenant between God and Israel
The original covenant was never annulled but, in the process of time, the revelation of the covenant between Yahweh God and His people, Israel, has expanded. We now embrace the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The “Torah” (first five books of the Bible) are what all of the Bible is based upon.

As mentioned, the Biblical, Hebrew word that identifies the first five books of the Bible is the Torah. The Greek word for the first five books of the Bible is the Pentateuch.

Because the Bible is Hebrew based, the better and deeper understanding of the Bible is from a Hebraic perspective. Accordingly, I usually refer to the first five books of the Bible by the Hebrew word Torah which, in English, means “instructions”.

After Israel entered into the covenant at Mt. Sinai God led them to the land of Israel: The land that He had promised to Abraham, the father of our faith.

In time, Israel violated their covenant: you might say they committed adultery against their husband; that is one way the Bible describes it. They wanted to worship other Gods and so God granted them their wish. He dispersed Israel from their land and into all of the world.

The dispersion of Israel fulfilled prophecy

Jeremiah 9:16
I will scatter them (Israel) also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.

Psalm 106:24-27
Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word: But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD. Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

It was prophesied that Israel would be dispersed and they were.

But it is also prophesied that Israel would be reunited – and they will be.

Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, You are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, You are the sons of the living God.
Hosea 1:10

And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, you are my people; and they shall say, You are my God.
Hosea 2:23

Jer 6:14-16 also speaks of a regathering of Israel —  a second Exodus

One of the reasons for Yeshua’s earthly ministry was the regathering of the children of Israel, the bride for the groom.

But He answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matthew 15:24

These twelve Yeshua sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matthew 10:5-6

Yeshua came to defeat the works of the devil as the Savior of mankind, and to begin the process of restoring Israel back to their God.

And Yeshua came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

All through the Renewed Covenant (N/T) we see the Apostles following Yeshua’s instructions and reaching out to call Israel back to their God.

For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh.
Romans 9:3

They are the people of Israel, chosen to be God’s adopted children. God revealed his glory to them. He made covenants with them and gave them his law. He gave them the privilege of worshiping him and receiving his wonderful promises.
Romans 9:4-5 NLT

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are their ancestors, and Christ himself was an Israelite as far as his human nature is concerned. And he is God, the one who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.

…who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.
Romans 9:4-5 KJV

I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he makes intercession to God against Israel …
Romans 11:1-2

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
1 Peter 1:1

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
James 1:1

Continuity:
The Prophets, Yeshua, Peter, Paul, James, they all tell us that Yahweh God is working to redeem and bring Israel back to Himself

To accomplish this, extra-Biblical records indicate that the Apostles spread out into Europe, Africa and other places throughout the world calling on Yahweh God’s people to repent: to change their thinking and return back to Him….

This is where we are today
Just as the Prophets of old, just like Yeshua Himself, the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists; Today’s Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers should be calling out to Israel “saying return to your God”. This is the purpose that we do what we do.

The Bible is clear that God will accept all who come to Him.  Yeshua’s sacrifice is sufficient for all.

Dr. Rayphe

We do not adhere to islam, Judaism, atheism, deism or paganism of which much of today’s “Christianity” is saturated with.

We are followers of Yeshua the Messiah, the King of Israel and the Savior of all mankind.

You are welcome to unite with Him with us.

Conclusion
In part 1 I identified Biblical Israel and how the current body politic identified as Israel in the East is not Biblical Israel. I explained how all that are genuinely in covenant with Yahweh God through Yeshua the Messiah are automatically a part of Biblical Israel.
,
Part 2 of our series “Know who you are”, is about embracing the history of Israel and the heritage that you can embrace in Yeshua.

We discussed how the Israel of God was dispersed and how Yeshua not only came to begin the regathering process as Bible prophecy said He would, but He also commissioned those who would follow after Him to continue the process and that in that process is where we are today.

The more you can embrace your heritage and where you are in time and space. the more confident you will be in the things of God.

As we conclude this series, in part 3 I will address additional ways that embracing your Biblical heritage and knowing who you are “In Messiah” will impact your life even more.
