step into the presence of God, God has something big for you, the presence of God fell, Holy Spirit come,

Mansion in Heaven or just “room” for YOU: What’s the big deal?

Yesterday I posed the question: “Is Yeshua / Jesus in the mansion building business?”

Is Jesus busy building mansions in Heaven?
The focus of that program and article is John 14:3 in which several versions of the Bible indicate that Yeshua is currently up in Heaven building mansions for all of us to live in for the rest of eternity.

If you have not read that article or listened to the podcast, I encourage you to check it out here.

At one point in that article, as the title indicated, I rhetorically asked: What does it matter?

Due to constraints, I was unable to answer that question as fully as I would have liked and so in this article, I will provide a little more detail about that.

You are raised up together with Yeshua
Ephesians 2: 6 indicates that God has raised us up together, WITH Yeshua, and made us to sit together WITH him in Heavenly places in Messiah Yeshua.

This is the place that Yeshua has prepared for us. It is important to note that in Eph. 2:6 the word “places” is a filler word. So how would the verse read if the word “places” wasn’t there (which it’s actually not)? Take a look at this…

God has raised us up together and made us to sit together in Heaven in Messiah Yeshua.

Ephesians 2:6

This is the place that Yeshua went to prepare that He mentioned in John 14:3

Little doctrine leads to big error
Can you see how little doctrine leads to big error? Would you rather know that Yeshua is running around with a hard had and a clipboard in Heaven building mansions or, would you rather know that where He is there are you also and that He is seated in a place of authority at the right hand of the Father? For me, I’ll take the latter. Here are a few reasons why:

2 Tim. 2:12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

Rom 5:17  For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

And finally:  And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 1:6

The Kingdom of God is within you
In Luke 17:21 Yeshua said that “the Kingdom of God is within you”. In Romans 8:17 Apostle Paul declares that we are JOINT heirs with Messiah: And then in John 17 Yeshua prayed that we would literally be one with Him.

2 Timothy 2:12 relates that if we carry the cross of Yeshua, we will also reign with Him. Most assume that this refers to later, in the next life. However, the context does not support that view and neither is there any other reason to believe that this Scripture, and several others like it, are saying anything other than our place as Kings and Priests is applicable right here and now.

You may be asking why you don’t see this in your life? The reason is you don’t step out in faith and embrace it as a reality. It would be like someone giving you a car. You can accept it, thank the giver, stare at it and meditate on how nice it looks, but until you get in and activate it, the nice, shiny new car will be no good to you.

Avail yourself to God
I began yesterday’s introduction to “God’s Kingdom” by asking “have you ever heard anyone say something like “Holy Spirit come” or “The presence of God fell” and then I began addressing John 14:1-3. I talked about how the verse is not referring to Yeshua’s activities in Heaven as much as what He accomplished when He conquered sin, death and the devil.

If you are feeling God in an extra special way at a particular time, it isn’t necessarily that He is with you more than He is at any other time, it is more likely because you are availing yourself to Him more. He is always eager to show Himself faithful through you.

Today I encourage you to activate your faith. Take your place as a King and Priest in the Kingdom of God.  For one day in His courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. Psalm 84:10.

Blessings in Yeshua
