apathy, slothfulness, commitment to God

Many are called but few are chosen

Peter, an Apostle of Yeshua Messiah, to the….. Elect accordingwho have been chosen by God the Father, through sanctification of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirt, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Yeshua Messiah…

God desires all men to be saved (rescued, delivered, healed), and to return to the full recognition and knowldedge of the truth.

1 Peter 1:2 & 1Timothy 2:4

The heart of God is that you would dine with Him
The above verses are my translation. Together I believe they express the heart of God in respect to what God is saying here. In some ways they summarize the message of “The Parable of the Wedding Feast” in Matthew 22:1-14.

In this parable, the King invited several people to his banquet. He sent two different messengers out and both times the people shrugged off their invitation: They weren’t interested.

Finally, the King invited all who were out on the street. Since they were all ill-prepared the King provided robes for everyone. However, the King came across one man who wasn’t wearing his robe. The King asked the man why he wasn’t wearing the robe but the man didn’t have an answer.

The man cared enough to attend and receive but he didn’t care enough to show respect or put forth any real effort for the privilege of receiving. What we see here is his apathy, pride, selfishness, disrespect shining through the story. It didn’t go well for Him.

Many are called but few are chosen
These Scriptures can be applied to individuals just as they can be applied to nations; even America.

What does God see in you? Apathy, pride, selfishness, and disrespect? Or love, devotion, commitment, consideration, etc., etc., etc.?

Many are called but few are chosen

Matthew 22:14

God has provided you with a robe of righteousness in order to prepare for the greatest feast ever to be hosted. Will you put it on?
