There is freedom in the Messiah even in slavery
Relatively few seem to have any idea that America is reaching critical mass. Of the few who do seem to be aware, fewer still seem to have any idea of really why these things are happening. Sure some may know about the tribulation or other “end times” prophecies but very few seem to have anything more than a very elementary understanding.
The world outside of the Garden in Eden
The Scriptures are clear that there was an inhabited world outside of the Garden in Eden. There is much science that supports this as well. We know relatively little about the ancient world. We know it existed, but many details are missing.
A descendant of Noah by the name of Nimrod rejected Yahweh God and rose to the position of King in the pagan world (Genesis 10:9).
The Targum and Nimrod
The Jerusalem Targum is an Aramaic paraphrase / explanation / interpretation of the Hebrew Scriptures that Jewish rabbis use in the course of their teaching. It is not the Bible but it is a historical reference that can be considered.
This is how the Targum interprets Genesis 10:9:
(Nimrod) was mighty in hunting (or in prey) and in sin before God, for he was a hunter of the children of men in their languages; and he said unto them, depart from the religion of Shem, and cleave to the institutes of Nimrod.
Nimrod hunted people
This is one reason that we know that Nimrod was more than just a “mighty hunter” of big game. Nimrod was an enemy of Yahweh God and a hunter of men, not animals. He was diabolical. It was upon Nimrod’s instruction that the “Tower of Babel” was created so that he could reach the gods and be a mighty one as they were.
Nimrod took on the nature of his father, the satan. When the satan went into the garden, his goal was to pursue and enslave Adam. Likewise, Nimrod pursued men, and like him, so have a multitude of other pagan leaders throughout history. It is the “nature of the beast”.
Slavery in the world and America
In fact, as a bit of a historian, I think that a person would be on solid ground to say that, looking across the expanse of time, enslaving men, women, and children in one way or another, occurs more frequently than not.
Again, the reason for this is they are manifesting the nature of their (spiritual) father, the satan.
While America has not been immune to some of these issues, Godly influence has at least been able to force slavery (as commonly perceived) into the shadows.
However, as Godly influence in America wanes and satanic influence continues, various forms of slavery will become more and more commonplace.
This is nothing new to the people of God. The entire Bible was written in a world of which slavery was a way of life.
Freedom in the Messiah
For one who is in covenant with the Messiah, there is freedom. There are many stories of God’s people who have been physically imprisoned or enslaved, under horrendous conditions. Yet because of the intimate relationship they had with Yeshua they were still spiritually free.
Everyone knows of the story of Paul and Silas in the Bible. Yeshua made it abundantly clear that He could not be contained even by the cross. Peter and Andrew were crucified but, according to tradition, they requested to be hung upside down because they were not worthy of the same manner of death as Yeshua. John the Baptist wrote the book of Revelation while imprisoned. Apostle Paul wrote some of the Bible while imprisoned. There are many others who have shown us that even under dire circumstances one can find freedom in the Messiah: Some of these include John Bunyan, William Tyndale, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Richard Wurmbrand, Brother Yun, and others.
Freedom in spirit: No man or spirit can take you out of His hand
This is part of the reason that, throughout the years, I have emphasized the reality of God creating us in three parts. You are a spirit, with a soul, in a body. While a body can certainly be overpowered, and that is not to be minimized in any way, and a soul can be significantly influenced, there “aint no power on earth” that can contain a spirit that is in covenant with the Most High God.
Just as nothing could forcefully separate Yeshua from His Father, NO MAN OR SPIRIT can take you out of His hand.
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 10:28
Rest in this today and make it a reality in your life.
Blessings in Yeshua,
Parson Rayphe
