The parable of the marriage wedding feast dinner. Matthew 22:1-14 Israel, The Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven, Why did Jesus speak in parables? Red letters in the Bible, prideful, Christian radio, podcast, leaving the church coaching

God is calling… How will you respond

This is part three of a series based upon the Parable of the Marriage Feast in Matthew 22:1-14. Each part stands alone with the other parts supplementing and adding to the whole.

Just like so many other Scriptures that we have looked at in the past, this Passage is so incredibly rich. It just seems like almost every word is oozing with rich, deep meaning. And so to clarify what is being said, we’ll be looking at various Scriptures, concepts, and precepts that are expressed throughout all of the Bible, but primarily throughout the renewed covenant (N/T).

Today I would like to invite you to examine verses 6&7 with me.

5 But they made light of it , and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his market store: 6 And the rest of the people took the king’s servants, and violently abused , and murdered them. But when the king heard thereof, he was very angry and provoked. He sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. (modified KJV)

Matthew 22:6-7

America reject God?
As we consider these verses the national application of the parable is beginning to come a little more into focus. Of course, Yeshua was speaking of Israel of which the parable is directly speaking to. However, since Biblical principles apply to all people groups we can see how the principles addressed here apply directly to America as well.

As America, has rejected the Messiah we are seeing the consequences more and more.

Virginia and the Second Amendment
For example, as of this writing, there are many who are quite concerned about the government overreach that is occurring in Virginia in regards to the Second Amendment: And rightfully so.

However, God has been calling out to Virginia for years, even decades and perhaps centuries just as He has been calling out to all of America.

Yet all across America, apathy and blatant disregard for the things of God have been the rule: Just as we see in verses 5 – 7 above.

The Second Amendment issues being addressed in Virginia did not occur overnight. Who voted the legislators in? To some degree, they are a product of their environment. As individuals, how did the state legislators arrive at the point of which they overwhelmingly disregard traditional American values?

The apathy of people who call themselves Christians, the acceptance of baby murder and other heinous sins, the removal of school prayer, and Biblical compromise at the pulpit are just a few reasons for these things..

I don’t know every detail. I am confident that there have been some wonderful people who have worked tirelessly in Virginia. However, I am also sure that if only a fraction of the confessing Christians would have stepped forward to advance the Kingdom of God then Virginia, and by extension, the country, wouldn’t be where it is today with these issues.

Americans have had the same response to God that those in the parable had: They were too busy. They placed their own interests above the desires of the Most High.

What if….” Christians actually did what they had promised to do? Share the Gospel.
What if Christians in Virginia were busy sharing the Gospel at every opportunity? What if they were busy reading their Bibles and home fellowships dotted the landscape across the state? If this was the situation then the issues in Virginia would have never developed.

America is in the parable of the marriage dinner.
Just as we see in the parable, even now there is little interest in the marriage supper. All across America, we see a spirit of apathy among those who profess Christianity, the Gospel is being hushed, and the messengers are being penalized.

What is a result of all these things? The King is being provoked to anger, His army is being dispatched, and cities will burn.

Still, if you as an individual, pursue the king and respond to his invitation, then you can rest assured that you will be counted amongst the chosen ones.

Seek God today while He may be found.

Blessings in Yeshua
