Partnering with God for His perfect will

Construction: Working together and making a buck’.
For a season of my life, I worked in construction. On several of the larger projects, there were “Project Managers”. These were guys who graduated high school, went to college, and took some building construction management classes. The problem came when afterward, they hit the field trying to tell the old salts, that had been in the trenches for decades, how it was to be done. Often times it didn’t go over so well.
Even though I wasn’t very old, I had worked on Construction jobs off and on for most of my life. Because I started when I was very young, I was well acquainted with how these projects “ticked”.
“Partnering”
At one point we began to hear a new word from these college graduates: “Partnering”.
One day I asked one of them what it was all about. He responded with an impressive-sounding bunch of words which basically amounted to “partnering means to get along with each other so that the project can be completed on time and it is financially profitable for everyone”. I said “oh”…..
I didn’t want to pop his bubble so I kept quiet: But that day I learned that what many of us had been doing for many years, now had a title. Just think: All that time we were “partnering” and we didn’t even know it…..
In case you didn’t catch it I wrote that with a bit of sarcasm. Still, I think you can get the point.
Partnering God’s way
Partnering; quite the concept isn’t it? I guess that would be the secular version of Matthew 22:36-39 AMP:
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” And Jesus replied to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].”
Partnering with God for life
Seriously though, when it comes to partnering with God, many of us could probably learn some things from those college edumacated Project Managers that we used to criticize so much. (Just one last poke of fun – I wouldn’t feel that way today). Just to be clear, generally speaking, good education is a great thing. That is just the way many of us felt about the situation back then.
“Partnering” with God, for the benefit of all, is the smart way to live life. Recently I wrote an article on pacifism and how it is completely anti-Biblical. However, it is important to note that when a person tries to live life or battle on their own, that is every bit as contrary to God as the doctrine of pacifism; maybe even much more so.
God would much rather be in relationship with someone, even if their doctrine is off, then watch them be independent, causing themselves and everyone around them to suffer.
Michael: A great example of what “Partnering” with God can be
Take the archangel Michael, in the Bible, for instance. Michael is very influential: Even his name means “chief of angels”.
One source describes Archangel Michael as: “one of, the chief, or the first archangel who is described as the one who stands in time of conflict for the children of Israel”. Michael has a very important responsibility. Still, Michael knows that the only way to stay safe, and really accomplish things, is to partner with God, not just doing things FOR God.
In Daniel 12:1 we read: “Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. …. and at that time … every one who is found written in the book, will be rescued.”
Do you want to have the power of God working with you and for you? I do.
In the Bible, Michael is able to do great things, only if He partners with God rather than trying to do things on his own. It is the same way for you and me today. A good and fulfilling life is waiting for you today but only if you will accept the help that God has for you: And only if you work together WITH Him.
Michael chooses God
I am thankful for Michael. If Michael didn’t work with God, people would have suffered. Little ones would spend their lives being terrorized by evil with no relief: And the older ones would try, but never quite feel fulfilled.
In the Bible, Michael is certainly not a pacificist. In fact, he is a warrior: But, just like Michael, if you try to do things on our own, it is much more difficult, lonely, and even scary. God knows that if we “partner” WITH Him things go much, much better for everyone.
When we partner WITH God we work WITH Him as opposed to against Him, on our own, or even FOR Him.
Yeshua even “partnered” with God
Remember, this is how Yeshua functioned 100% of the time. He was always partnering with God; working together with Him.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.
John 5:19
God honestly and earnestly wants to “partner” with you
Not only does God genuinely want to “partner” with you, but He knows that it is what is best for you and that it is the only way that you will experience true happiness and success.
In the Bible, there are a number of people who tried to do things on their own: It usually didn’t go so well. How does it usually go for you when you try to do things on YOUR own? Do you feel that things usually go pretty well? Or do you find that there is often disorder, and that things could go better, even though you do your best? Everyone I know says that things go much better when they allow God to be an active part of it.
Even when we experience challenges, Things still go way better when we partner with God.
I hope and pray that you will partner with God so that you can experience your best life now, and always.
Blessings in Yeshua,
Parson Rayphe
