Prophetic insights to the “5 i wills” of the satan.
This is a follow-up article to a five-part series regarding the five “i wills” of the devil.
Those articles may be found at the following links:
The five (5) i wills of the satan:
- I will ascend into Heaven
- I will exalt my throne above the stars of God
- I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north
- I will ascend above the heights of the clouds
- I will be like the Most High
In those articles, I addressed how the devil purposes to drastically impact your life, even now, in each of these areas that he has proclaimed.
The “5 i wills” of the satan are found in Isaiah 14:13-14:
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
So while the things that the devil does are rooted in his desires that are expressed in the “five i wills”, and even now those words do affect your life, along with the entire human race, “the five i wills” also have some very significant prophetic meaning as well.
Don’t be deceived
To me, one of the most haunting Scriptures in all of the Bible is Matthew 24:3-4. Jesus was teaching about the end of days when He was asked a question:
When shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world? And Yeshua answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
When asked that question, why do you think that Yeshua responded this way? He could have talked about the blood moon, the great apostasy, anything: But what did He say instead? “Take care to not be deceived.”
To me, this is somewhat haunting, and perhaps even daunting.
What did He mean?
Beyond the obvious, what do you think that means? One thing it means is that in the end of days, it will be very easy TO be deceived.
The satan masquerades as light
It is arguable that deception is the only real weapon that the satan has.
Here is how it works: If Yeshua is “the Way, the Truth, and the life”; and if all of His promises are “yes and amen”, and if someone who lives “in Christ” believes on them and walks in them, then there is no way for the satan to deceive that person because God clearly promises to us that we will walk in the light as He is in the light.
If we are walking in the light of God, and faithfully embracing His promises, then the threats that the satan spues out should be met with scorn rather than fear.
One of my favorite passages of Scripture is this: It clearly reflects our authority of the enemy of your soul:
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mark 16:16-18
So, the more the satan can keep a person separated from God, the more that person will walk in darkness, the more deceived they will be and therefore the more defenseless they will be.
I believe that the satan’s greatest weapon that he has against us is deception and I believe that, that is at least part of what Yeshua was saying in Matthew 24.
The devil purposes to deceive you
Upon review of the five “I wills” of the satan, it is clear that the devil has a plan. How does he plan on executing that plan in your life and even throughout the world? Primarily through deception.
Yes, the satan will attempt to accomplish his goals by force and any means possible: However, to a large degree, deception is and will be the primary tool that he uses. Remember the garden?
Deception is exactly what the satan used when he told Eve that “You will not surely die”
In the same way, when the satan begins to really get aggressive in achieving his stated goals deception will again be one of the greatest tools that he uses to accomplish his diabolical goals.
The end of days
Yeshua tells us of a time when the world will gladly follow someone else. He said, “Another will come, and Him you will follow” (John 5:43).
The Bible is clear that the satan will rise to a position of power in this world. People will look to him as a messiah: But of course he will be the false messiah.
Who is this man the world will follow? Who is this false messiah? He is the Antichrist: the deceiver.
He is setting things in motion for these things to come to pass so that he can have what he wants; to be worshipped and followed:
- I will ascend into Heaven
- I will exalt my throne above the stars of God
- I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north
- I will ascend above the heights of the clouds
- I will be like the Most High
Of course many do follow him, many more will, and still more will follow him to their doom.
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2 Thessalonians 2:9-10
So as I mentioned, many of the “5 i wills” have a direct application to you even now, today, in your own life.
However, they also have a very real application, on a grander scale, that we will see come to fruition at the end of days, as the satan literally and fervently attempts to lure and lead the masses to their doom.
he knows that he is doomed. So his goal is to take as many with him as he can. Will you be one of his victims?
I pray not. You don’t have to be. Don’t be deceived. Seek first the Kingdom of God in your life. Walk in the light of life and knowledge that only Yeshua can give you. Here is a good place to start.
- I will ascend into Heaven
- I will exalt my throne above the stars of God
- I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north
- I will ascend above the heights of the clouds
- I will be like the Most High
