The Word and Spirit of God must go together in a balanced way

The Word AND Spirit of God

Please note: There may be some superfluous content at the beginning.

Malachi: Remember the Laws of Moses
The book of Malachi was written about 400 years before Matthew. It is among some of the last books, words, and instructions given by God before the Messiah’s first advent.

Mal 4:4-6 says” Remember you the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of Yahweh:  And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Moses
We all know about the mighty ways that God worked through Moses. It was the Levite Moses who was chosen to grow up trained and educated as an Egyptian. It was Moses who, miracle by miracle, led Israel out of Egypt, out of the bondage of slavery and to the promised land. It was Moses who, by the inspiration of God, penned the Torah.

Elijah: Remember the power of the Spirit of God
Elijah was a prophet who did mighty miracles as an ambassador of the Most High God. He was able to be transported from one physical location to another, He stopped the rain for 3 1/2 years, he raised the dead and much, much, more.

When Yeshua began His ministry He spoke of Moses and Elijah. His ministry clearly exemplified aspects of their callings and ministries. He even spoke with them.

Moses and Elijah
Moses represents the “Word” or Torah; the “law of God”. Elijah represents the Spirit and power of God. In this way, God is telling us that in order to walk with Him both elements must be present and walked out in balance.

In fact, Yeshua even said this very plainly.

But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and Truth (Word / Torah): for such does the Father seek to be His worshippers.

John 4:23

Yeshua’s ministry
When you consider Yeshua’s ministry, you see that this is exactly the way He lived. He was constantly invoking the Spirit of God into the written (logos) Word of God and the spoken (Rhema) Word of God.

Likewise, He was always invoking the Spirit of God into the Word of God.

He was constantly showing us the necessity for balance and He was continuously correcting those who were out of balance. There are numerous examples of these principles throughout the Gospels.

Maintaining the proper balance of Word and Spirit is critical for those who want to be used by Yahweh God to do great exploits.

For you and I
For you and I today, the message is clear; learn to apply the Word of God to the Spirit of God and learn to apply the Spirit of God to the Word of God.

It is only by walking in this balance that you will be the most effective to follow His leading in your life moment by moment.

If you want to be a part of those who God is calling out to represent Him in these days, a part of the Remnant, then ask Him how to walk in His Word and Spirit in a balanced way and then go forward with the expectation of doing great things in Yeshua.

Blessings in Yeshua
