How to know God intimately. Christian radio and podcast for the Remnant. No shortcuts to God

There are no shortcuts to God

A relationship with God requires more than a one-time commitment
One of the greatest deceptions that the devil has successfully executed on America’s mainstream religion is that all you have to do is “ask Jesus into your heart”: He will do the rest. He will reveal everything you need to know and then you automatically arrive at where you need to be.

Unfortunately, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. God certainly CAN and does miraculously and instantaneously change lives. He has done that many times. In fact, I myself am a blessed recipient of His divine grace in that way.

However, those instances are the exception rather than the rule. Even when there is instantaneous, miraculous change the blessed recipient of that grace is not suddenly transformed into the picture of perfection. At very least there are still pockets of imperfection that need to be brought into captivity. This was the case even with Apostle Paul.

Yes God is willing, able, and standing at the ready to bless us beyond measure: But still, every perspective requires us to do our part.

His ways are higher than our ways. It is nonsensical to expect or desire God to reduce Himself to our level. In Him we have an opportunity to come up higher; to live life in a higher dimension.

God shrouds Himself in mysteries.

Truly, You are a God who hides Himself, O God of Israel, Savior! Isaiah 45:15

He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy around Him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.

Ps. 18:11

How did Yeshua communicate?
Yeshua sometimes used various methods of communication in order to relate His message. However, it is a common misconception that His sole reason for utilizing parables was to help the listeners understand what He was trying to say. Sure that was part of the reason sometimes, but not all of the time.

Even His disciples did not understand what Yeshua meant sometimes. Consequently, they often had to ask Yeshua to explain what He meant by the stories that He told.

“All these things spoke Jesus unto the multitude in PARABLES; and without a parable spoke He not unto them.”  Matt 13:34

“But without a PARABLE spoke He not unto them…” Mark 4:34

“This PARABLE spoke Jesus unto them; but they understood not what things they were which He spoke unto them.”  John 10:6

Why did Yeshua speak in parables?
There are at least a couple of reasons why Yeshua spoke in parables.

One reason is that “many are called, but few chosen” Mat 22:14. In this, we understand that Yeshua was calling out to those who the Father was specifically calling unto Himself.

I believe another reason Yeshua used parables is because, as the “Bride of Christ”, there is a certain courtship that transpires between the groom and His bride. There is an exchange that must take place in which mysteries are revealed about the other.

The only way this exchange can occur is if there is genuine interest and desire in the other party. Yes, there can be physical intimacy, interesting discussions and some level of camaraderie. But the only way a marriage can truly bloom is if there is genuine, mutual interest: And the reality is, this can only be confirmed through consistent, committed persistence, and time.

Consequently, as mentioned above, to some degree God shrouds Himself in mysteries. He speaks to us in ways that sometimes seem perplexing or obscure to us.

So, like all mysteries, the only way you are going to push through the obvious is to push through the obvious. The only way you are going to experience the deeper things of God is if you breach the surface and dive in unrestrained.

That’s it. No shortcuts. There is no magic formula.

Labour (Strongs #G2038: work for, cultivate, engage, trade for) not for the meat which perishes, but for that (spiritual) food which endures unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for Him has God the Father sealed.

Joh 6:27

The grammatical construction of this verse tells us that this effort to push into God requires “continued and repeated action” and, like any marriage, that describes precisely what He desires of us.
