Living by faith: The “simple” ways are best

Simple yet complex
Have you ever heard that we use only 3% of our brains?  It’s a myth.  We use 100% of our brains.  However, some believe that we only use a small fraction of its capacity or capability. When considering these kinds of statistics it is important to remember that the vast majority of these scientific research efforts are conducted by pagans: Secularists who base all of their “science” on research developed by other atheists who have no understanding whatsoever that people are made in the image of God.

We are spirits beings with a soul, housed in a body. The spirit and soul contribute tremendously to a person’s personality yet they are only distantly related to brain matter. So as God created us in His image, we are incredibly complex in design, yet inherently simple in practice.

It is the simple things in life that matter most….
I constantly marvel at the Words of God; both His written and His spoken Word.  Even just on the surface, the Bible is so very profound, yet it is simultaneously so deep that a person could easily spend a lifetime studying all of the nuances of just one of its 31,240 verses.

One of the things that has always greatly intrigued me about the Bible is that it is written for “everyman”: Every man, woman, and child.  It is profoundly applicable to everyone no matter your station in life.  Yet as God’s written plan for man, it addresses even the most basic elements of human existence.

The Bible reveals God
Of course one of the most important functions that the Bible does so well is it reveals God; Creator of the universe.  It shows us what He likes, and what He doesn’t, why He does what He does; what causes Him to be angry, sad, sorry and glad.

Man and his ways
When you look at God through the Bible, you see God’s care and concern even in the intricate details of daily life; what to eat, when to sleep, how to relate to one another and of course most importantly; how to relate to God Himself.

He is everywhere you see
Among other things, I used to be a trapper.  One time I was with a group of trappers at a gathering and one very nice man in his 60’s told how one day many years ago, while alone, He was in the deep woods with waders on walking down a creek.  Suddenly and unexpectedly God showed up in a profound way, even as a bright light and a presence that shook him to the core.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead;
so that they are without excuse:
Romans 1:20

The experience impacted the man so very much that He had never told anyone about the event, even his wife, until that very moment, several years later.

I knew another man who experienced God in a similar manner while fishing.

So sometimes when I want to see God I look up
Job 9:8
He alone has spread out the heavens….

Other times, I look down because He made the ground too and everything that came from it.

Genesis 2:7 & 9

Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.  Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Did you get that?  God made His Creation for you!  He made it so that it would be as balm to the eyes and as food and medicine for the body.

Walk with God in the simple ways
Our walk with God is a walk of faith.  It is simple.  From our perspective, it’s not always easy; but it is simple. The more complicated you make it, the farther away from Him you will feel.  He even told us to approach Him as a child would embrace their loving father.  Unfortunately many of us did not have loving fathers and so if you are unsure how to do that then ask Him.  He will show you the way.

So if you have embraced Yeshua as the Messiah (if not click here) then rest assured that God is all around you, even in you, even when you don’t “feel” Him: Know that, embrace it as your reality.

God has graced you with the faith to know that He is.  Embrace Him today.  Accept all that He has for you; it is always for your good.

Here is what you might say: God, I don’t know where you have been or even where I have been;  but I don’t want to be away from you any longer. Please help me.

Blessings in Yeshua,
Parson Rayphe
