Does God care about me? Will God Help me?

Will God really take care of me?

Wow…. How many people do you think have asked that question in one form or another?

I can’t remember now when God gave me my “life verse”, but I do know that when I was very young I mistook “Seek first the Kingdom of God” (Mt. 6:33) for religion. Later in my late teens, having decided to dump religion, I put God on hold for a while until He called me in a genuine way some years later.

At that point, I earnestly began to follow my life verse. However, I couldn’t seem to fully shake my past. I couldn’t quite figure out how to move forward in sincerity, and I didn’t even realize that I was being plagued by nefarious entities that were trying to keep me down. I tried to seek the real Kingdom of God; I looked for it, I sought the help of others who were supposed to be spiritual leaders, but it seemed very elusive to me.

… Seek you first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness;
Matthew 6:33a KJV

Still, even though I was sincerely and wholeheartedly purposing to follow God and seek His Kingdom, I emphasized the first part of that verse and pretty much ignored the second half of it:

” and all these things shall be added unto you.” Mt. 6:33b KJV

Although I desperately rejected religion as I knew it in my youth, I had no idea that, by default, I was now creating my own religion. It was a religion of striving and pushing to seek the ever-elusive Kingdom of God without resting in the provision of the Great Provider, Yahweh Jirah as the second half of the verse indicates.

An English translation of the Hebrew version of Matthew says it like this:
“Above all, pray for the kingdom realm of God” and the righteousness that proceeds from Him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly

Translated into English from Aramaic, Matthew 6:33 reads like this:
“So above all, (IF you) constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from Him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.

(IF you) and emphasis added

What is sin?
We have been led to believe that to sin is to commit some egregious violation of God’s law.

Sin certainly can be an intentional violation of God’s law but it doesn’t have to be. The English word sin is translated from a Hebrew word which refers to missing the mark / bullseye in archery. Picture yourself with a bow and arrow trying to hit the bullseye. Would you deliberately miss your target? Of course not. Still, when you did miss, for our purposes, the proper word for the miss would be to sin.

So sin does not have to be purposeful: You can miss perfection even when you are trying your hardest to hit the target.

So in my case, I was ignorantly sinning because even though I was earnestly and even zealously seeking first the Kingdom of God in my life, I was not resting in His provision, the second part of Matthew 6:33:

Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly
Matthew 6:33b

I desperately tried to properly implement these principles myself. I even earnestly sought after someone to try to help me implement them in a Godly way: But unfortunately, I failed on both accounts. Much of what I have learned along these lines I have learned in some very hard ways.

Praise God that you don’t have to “take the slow boat to China” as I did. Today I encourage you to “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness” but do so as you are resting in the promise that Yeshua will see to your every need as you walk in faith, love, wisdom and the many other Biblical principles laid out for us in the Holy Scriptures.

Embrace Yahweh Jirah. Come to know not only Yeshua the Righteous one but also Yeshua the lover of your soul. Yeshua the groom who will clear the way for you. Purpose to align yourself with the destiny that Heaven has established for you. When you do these things you really are seeking the Kingdom of God.

Does that all sound like a tall order? Well, it is. But know that you are not alone. If I can be of assistance feel free to contact me.

Blessings in Yeshua
