Something’s Missing in My Life

You know it’s there, but you just can’t see it.
That’s the way it often is isn’t it? You find yourself in a situation and you think to yourself “there has got to be an answer to this”.   Sometimes, when the situation seems dire, you might even think “there is no way out of this”.  How do I get free?

It is so easy to become so engulfed in your situation that you just can’t see “the forest through the trees”.

The Anchor
One of the reasons the world seems adrift these days is because we have strayed away from the truth’s that once kept us stable. It is true, that as long as satan is roaming the earth there always has been and always will be cruel instability.  However, the Bible speaks of an anchor that can hold us steady in the storms of life. The Bible speaks of “hope” acting as anchor for us when times get rough: But the problem is that you can only “hope” in something that you know to hope for.

The truth you know
There is a famous verse in the Bible which reads “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32.

I have amended this verse to make it a little more clear to convey one aspect of its meaning:

“You will know the truth, and
the truth YOU KNOW will set you free.”
John 8:32

I have been privileged to be deep in the wilderness, at night, with a full moon so bright that you could literally read by it. That would probably be impossible if only half of the moon were showing. If that were the case, you might know that the other half of the moon was “there” even though you couldn’t see it. The problem is, if you couldn’t see it, it wouldn’t help you.

Countless people have perished in the wilderness because they couldn’t see the food, water or shelter that was in abundance all around them: They couldn’t see it and they didn’t have the knowledge to utilize it. So it is with truth; in most cases it is the truth that you see and know that actually helps you.

Ignorance = Death
Another verse in the Bible speaks of this very issue when it says “people perish due to lack of knowledge”. Hab 4:6

If you think about it for a minute it makes sense. People go to medical doctors because of lack of knowledge to help themselves: The same can be said for dentists, mechanics, carpenters, police services, fire services, and a multitude of other services.

The Most Important Thing
We often don’t even hesitate to take advantage of these services yet when it comes to the most important things in life like understanding who we are, relationships with God and others, healing and health, we just sort of “wing-it” “on the fly”.

Few if any of us really commit to learning how to meet these basic, yet necessary needs. It seems that what matters most, we commit to the least.  It’s not all our fault; our culture encourages existing this way.

Something’s Missing – But it Has Been Found
It’s not truth alone that sets you free, rather it is the truth you know that sets you free. This ministry, including our online community, is for those few who choose to make the most important things in life the most important things. It’s not always easy, but God has given us the answers; we just have to commit to embracing them.

It’s true that much has been missing and that it causes us severe and often unnecessary hardship. However, it is also true that we have been provided the answers we need to heal, regain our lives back and live a healthy lifestyle. That’s what we’re all about.
