God’s instructions to win in life
In this program and article I addressed “God’s instructions for the wilderness”, I discussed Deuteronomy 8:1:

All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers. Deuteronomy 8:1 

In Deuteronomy 8:1 God gives us the end goal: “Live, multiply and possess the land”. Of course, there is much involved in these three things but this is idea of what He is saying.

How can you live a successful life?
How do we do what He wants us to do? As we move on to verse two, we see the pathway that God laid out for us in order to achieve the goals that He established in verse 1.

And you shal remember all the way whichYahweh your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou would keep his commandments, or no.

Four ways to connect with God
Here are four things that we can glean from this verse: Four things that God is telling you if you want to unite with Him.

• Remember ALL the ways which Yahweh leads.
  In every way, in every situation, remember that Yahweh God is waiting in the ready to lead and guide in the way that you should go.
• Humility
  God resists the proud but embraces the humble. Become and remain humble before God. Allow Him to lead and guide every step of the journey
• Know what was in your heart.
  Take inventory. Hate the evil. Do not tolerate it. Remove it. Love and embrace all that is good.
• Keep His commandments.
  In Deut. 30:19 God told us that He had set before us life and death, blessings and cursing. God’s instructions are a recipe for life. If you want to live then follow God’s instructions.

The choice is ours. Look how the Contemporary English Version puts it:

Israel, do you want to go into the land the LORD promised your ancestors? Do you want to capture it, live there, and become a powerful nation? Then be sure to obey every command I am giving you.Don’t forget how Yahweh your God has led you through the desert for the past 40 years. He wanted to find out if you were truly willing to obey him and depend on Him.

Deuteronomy 8:1-2

Say yes to God
Say no to apathy, shame, discouragement, lies, distractions, evil spirits, and any and everything that exalts itself above the plans and purposes of Yahweh God.
