What do you have to do to walk in the power of God?

There is sooo much evil happening in the world now; and it’s only just beginning.

The Remnant will do great exploits in the power of God
For those who are accepting the call of the Remnant, we will experience God working in ways that will literally shake the world.

However, there are many prerequisites that God will require of us if we are to walk in the fullness that He has for us. One of those requirements is the willingness to abandon everything that is not of Him: EVERYTHING.

Paganism in religion
Paganism saturates every aspect of the American culture of which I am aware.

I don’t have room in this article to share my testimony about this but I will say that I doubt too many can out-do me in regards to ignorantly and vivaciously embracing pagan customs and rituals into what I thought was seeking God. I would just ask that you remember that as you consider these things. I’ll share more about my experiences on the matter in future programs, articles, and teachings.

In this article, I hope to address the subject in a general manner. I’ll follow up with specifics.

“New years and christmasse”
Since the holidays are now over, one thing I thought I would mention is something that I usually wait until it’s too late to talk about.

Remember that New Year’s Eve party that you went to? Pagan. You know that calendar that you look at almost every day and usually multiple times per day? Pagan. It was created by a catholic pope and it is very contrary to God’s Biblical calendar that He explains in the Bible.

Like all old history, some of the details may vary a little but the following will give you a good idea of the origin of the strange, pagan names that catholic pope gregory utilized to create his calendar that you now use.

Months of the year

• January: named for the god Janus.
• February –named for the pagan Roman festival of purification.
• March – named for the god Mars, the Roman god of war. This was usually when the weather would allow the Roman army to “march” out to war every year.
• April – named for the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite. The latin word aprilis indicates a time of fertility. 
• May – named for the Roman goddess Maia, a deity of growth and increase.
• June – named for the goddess Juno, the wife of Jupiter, also known as the Queen of Heaven.
• July – named as “month of Julius” after julius ceaser.
• August – named after Augustus Caesar, emperor of Rome.
• September – is the ninth month of the year in the gregorian calendar. The word traces its meaning to the number seven. September is a holdover from a previous Roman calendar in which the 7th month was referred to as “september”. Apparently, they wanted to honor julius ceaser during the 7th month and so they moved september to the 9th month.  
• November – similar to how september was utilized for the eighth month instead of the seventh, “november traces its meaning to the word “nine”. In a previous Roman calendar november was the ninth month. Pope gregory, apparently not wanting to completely delete the name, moved november to the eleventh month. Why did he do this? It is dificult to know for sure but there was probably some reason for the odd move. That reason is said to be that “november” is named after tiberius caesar who followed augustus caesar.
• December – Similar to the issues with september and november, december was the last month in a previous Roman calendar. Because pope gregory obviously felt the name to retain “december” in his calendar, is was moved to the 12th and last month of the year. At the beginning of this month, the Romans celebrated a festival to honor the god of the sea and water known as poseidon to the Greeks. Toward the end of the month, the start of the new solar year is celebrated.

Days of the week

• sunday – sun-day memorializes the sun god.
• monday –  moon day memorializes the moon goddess.
• tuesday – memorializes the Norse god of war, tiu, or tyr, the son of odin, or woden – “tius-day”.
• wednesday – memorializes the chief Norse god odin, or woden – “woden’s day”.
• thursday – memorializes the Norse god of thunder, Thor, the supposed oldest son of odin; “thor’s day”.
• friday – memorializes the Norse goddess frigg or frey. She is the goddess of darkness, goddess of the sky, and goddess of love. She is the wife of odin. “frey day”

The gregaorian calendar and other more pagan inclusions
The gregorian calendar was introduced in 1582. Cardinal John Henry Newman discussed the calendar, and other things, in his 1878 book “The Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine“.

Following is a short excerpt from that book that addresses the calendar and other things.

“The rulers of the church from early times were prepared, should the occasion arise, to adopt, to imitate, or to sanctify the existing rites and customs of the population, as well as the philosophy of the educated class.

The use of temples and those dedicated to particular saints, and ornamented on occasion with branches of trees (wreaths), incense, lamps, candles, votive offerings on recovering from illnesses, holy water, holy days and seasons (the entire Church calendar), use of calendars, processions, blessings on the fields, sacerdotal vestments, the ring in marriage, chants, the Kyrie Eleison — are all of Pagan origin, and sanctified by adoption into the Church.”

As you can see, there are many, many other pagan influences in American “Christianity” and even all of the American culture.

The succession of American religion
“The church” as mentioned in the above quote is a reference to catholocism. So what does that have to do with you?

America was primarily founded by Pilgrims and Puritans. Both of these groups are of the “Anglican church” which is rooted in the “Church of England“, which is rooted in catholocism, which is the group who created the pagan gregorian calendar that is hanging on your wall and / or on your computer or phone, that is saturated with paganism and idol worship. This is the calendar that you probably consult multiple times a day; that you live by.

It is arguable that America’s mainstream religion is primarily a daughter of catholicism. Once you understand that, it is easy to see the paganism that is steeped in both catholicism and protestantism, which is a daughter of catholicism.

The beloved of God are everywhere
Since you are one of the few who are still with me, let me be very clear about something. There are dear, sweet, dear saints in every one of these groups. I have met catholics that would not have to take a back seat to anyone in regard to their commitment to Yeshua or their spirituality. As for the other groups, it seems that most broke away from catholicism as more truth and revelation was revealed to them. Many did so at great cost including horrendous, grotesque tortures, and extreme losses.

Almost all of us have been linked with these mainstream religions and have been influenced by them in varying degrees. Several of us have attended these kinds of churches; most for many years: myself included.

So I am not passing judgment here per se’. In fact, I have great empathy for those who are doing the best they know how to do but are just unaware of what they are doing. Hence this article.

Knowing where we were helps us see where we are
Tracing history like this helps us to understand where we are today. Woodrow Wilson, 28th president of the United States, said this:

“A nation which does not remember what it was yesterday, does not know what it is today, nor what it is trying to do. We are trying to do a futile thing if we do not know where we came from or what we have been about.”

Today I encourage you to examine yourself. “Consider your ways” (Haggai 1:7).

How much paganism has slithered its way into YOUR life? It’s a critically important question because every aspect of paganism in your life serves as a barrier between you and God, between you and your destiny, you and your calling, even perhaps between life and death. Do you remember the story of Ai in the Bible? When the sin was removed from the camp, the power of God returned (Joshua 7, 7:26)

Do you want to walk in the power of God?
If so, removing all paganism from your life is an important step.

In 1 Peter 1:16 Apostle Peter quoted Yahweh in Leviticus 19:2 when he said “Be holy; for I am holy”.

In Hebrews 12:1 the write of Hebrews admonishes us to

Lay aside every weight, and the sin which doesso easily beset us, and let us run with endurance the that is set before us.

As a part of the Remnant who God has established to represent Him, I want to encourage you that in these days, and certainly in the days ahead, you will be very thankful for every assistance that Holy Spirit offers you.

The more set apart unto God you are, the fewer barriers He will have to break through in order to bless you.
